On June 1st, 2011 High Road for Human Rights participated in the First Annual Human Trafficking Law Enforcement Training Day in Salt Lake City, UT. The training had a turn out of 285 people who received information from Utah’s Human Trafficking Task Force, members of the LAPD Trafficking Task Force and Vice Units, and Natasha Herzig, a trafficking survivor and current trafficking consultant.
High Road intern, Alli Crook, and High Road volunteer, Brittany Knapp, attended the event on behalf of High Road and manned the information table which included materials with solutions to human trafficking that were organized by previous High Road interns and volunteers. High Road is currently continuing research on sex slavery with the help of our summer law school intern, Marshall Thompson. Please stay tuned for his recommendations on how to combat the sex slavery problem soon!
