The High Road team spoke before a group of seven international visitors at Westminster College as part of the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy’s program. The group is traveling under the auspices of the US Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program to examine human rights advocacy and awareness.
The group included representatives from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Tajikistan. They discussed their experiences in developing their various projects, ranging from a transitional justice organization to a transgender rights nonprofit. The workshop drew out a variety of shared lessons, arriving at Joe Hill’s core message: “Don’t mourn; organize!”
